The Mousetrap in London

The Mousetrap in London

The world´s longest-running play, the Mousetrap, is now back on stage in London. The ultimate whodunnit, Agatha Christie´s thrilling murder mystery has become an icon of the West End, and stands as an important symbolical pillar of London´s theatrical history and culture.

About

Set during a snowstorm at a manor house recently-turned hotel, the stranded group of guests face an increasingly puzzling murder mystery after a local woman is murdered, and the police have reason to believe the murderer is at Monkswell Manor. Every individual stuck at the guest house seems to have secrets to hide, including the manor´s owners, and nobody avoids coming under suspicion as the suspense builds and Detective Sergeant Trotter does his best to unravel the conundrum, with a thrilling final plot twist, which by tradition, audiences are asked not to reveal, to ensure that the end of the play is not spoilt for future audiences.

Agatha Christie originally wrote a radio version of the play as a birthday present for Queen Mary of Teck, King George V´s spouse. It was broadcast on 30 May 1947 under the name Three Blind Mice, which was later changed for its West End stage production, due to a clash with a different play that had been produced under the same name during the second world war.  The suggestion to call it "The Mousetrap" came from Christie's son-in-law, Anthony Hicks.

For almost 70 years, Agatha Christie´s The Mousetrap has kept millions of people from every corner of the globe on the edge of their seats.  Don´t miss your chance to enjoy this gripping thriller and witness a detective mystery masterpiece come to life on stage!
