Journey through Staffordshire’s darkest history at the Alton Towers Dungeons! And if that’s not scary enough, thrill-seekers can also experience seven world-class rollercoasters including the latest addition Wicker Man that brings together wood and fire, as well as Nemesis with its iconic twists and turns, Oblivion’s vertical drop and The Smiler’s world-record 14 inversions.

For those with little ones in tow, CBeebies Land is the perfect place to explore and meet some of your favourite CBeebies friends including Hey Duggie, Peter RabbitTM and Postman Pat. Families can also discover Sharkbait Reef by SEA LIFE, learn to drive at Cuckoo Cars Driving School, catch the Runaway Mine Train or enjoy the spins and thrills on Spinball Whizzer!

 

The resort, which is operated by Merlin Entertainments Group, incorporates a theme park, water park, mini-golf and hotel complex. Originally a private estate, Alton Towers grounds opened to the public in 1860 to raise funds for the estate. In the late 20th century it was transformed into a theme park and opened a number of new rides from 1980 onwards.

Alton Towers Resort currently has over 50 rides and attractions including our brand new Wicker Man ride. The theme park is open from mid-March to early November. Special events are hosted throughout the year, including our award-winning Scarefest event for Halloween.
